The Benefits Specialist II will support the Benefits Manager by providing administrative support in implementing company-wide health and welfare benefit programs and policies. This position is a remote-telework role. US Citizenship is required.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the administration, monitoring and day-to-day health and welfare benefit plans to ensure these plans are administered in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Assist with Open Enrollment preparation, setup, and testing.
  • Provide support to HR Reps and employees in resolving benefit data issues and questions.
  • Prepare/process monthly premium vendor payments.
  • Perform data maintenance and updates to employee records in the BenAdmin system.
  • Assist in the delivery of benefit presentations, communications and conduct annual benefits meetings/webinars.
  • Assist in training field Human Resources Representatives regarding benefit policies, procedures and processes.
  • Review/process weekly Service Contract Act Health & Welfare payments.
  • Process payroll benefits deductions and perform reconciliations.
  • Monitor the Leave of Absence and Benefits mailboxes and respond to inquiries.
  • Review cases from the Benefit Administrator.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Position may require 10% travel.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work with confidential materials and employee information and maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Good written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Word and other integrated software applications
  • Working knowledge of HR databases and associated report writing functions
  • Organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. Two years of experience may be substituted for every year of the degree.
  • 5 years of job-related/benefit-related experience or equivalent.
  • Experience with Government Contacting, Service Contract Act, and Workday is preferred.
