Position Overview

This role is integral to the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, focusing on enhancing the safety and welfare of children and families.

Compensation

Annual Salary:

  • Level I H23A - $37, with Full State Employee Benefits
  • Level II H23B - $40, with Full State Employee Benefits
  • Level III H23C - $43, with Full State Employee Benefits

Additionally, candidates with a Master's Degree in Social Work will receive a salary incentive of 5%. On-call positions may earn an extra bonus of $100 to $150 biweekly, depending on duties.

Travel Requirements

This position involves extensive travel. A valid driver's license and appropriate car insurance are required. State vehicles will be provided for job-related duties.

Minimum Qualifications

For Child Welfare Specialist, Level I:

  • Completion of 90 hours from an accredited institution, or
  • Three years of relevant experience, or
  • A combination of education and experience.

For Child Welfare Specialist, Level II:

  • A bachelor's degree in any field, or
  • One year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.

For Child Welfare Specialist, Level III:

  • A Master's degree, or
  • A Bachelor's Degree with one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist, or
  • Two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

All new employees will participate in the Child Welfare Core Academy Training Program. The Resource Family staff is responsible for:

  • Overseeing daily operations related to foster care and adoption.
  • Maintaining relationships with foster, kinship, and adoptive families.
  • Providing in-home support and social services for families involved in the adoption or foster care process.
  • Offering training and guidance to foster families and other placement providers.
  • Conducting family assessments and annual reassessments.
  • Reviewing children's histories and coordinating their placements.
