Position Overview: As a Resolution Specialist II, you will be responsible for notifying or locating borrowers with overdue accounts and attempting to secure payment to the credit union in compliance with established policies and procedures. Recovery of funds owed to the credit union may involve issuing garnishments, levies, repossessions, or other actions as approved to minimize delinquency rates and offset loan losses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Locate and notify members with overdue accounts, arranging debt repayment or establishing repayment schedules; advise on further necessary actions and strategies. Contact members via phone, mail, or email. Follow skip tracing procedures to obtain pertinent information as needed.
  • Identify seriously delinquent accounts promptly and, upon approval, proceed with corrective actions. If repossession of collateral is necessary, collaborate closely with repossession agents and leadership for disposition.
  • Work within a dedicated queue with a call quota of 15 calls per hour until the queue is completed.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and representatives of estates to manage deceased memberships.
  • Initiate modification processes with members who may require additional assistance due to hardship.
  • Document collection efforts and status of member accounts in designated records of the credit union via core processor or collection software.
  • Address payment history disputes and respond to inquiries from branch-level staff.
Qualifications:
  • Two or more years of experience in credit or collections within a financial institution or lending environment is required.
  • A high school diploma or G.E.D. is necessary.
Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills will be considered.
