Comprehensive training will be offered to new hires. All new employees will participate in the Child Welfare Core Academy Training Program.
Annual Compensation
- Level I H23A - $37, Full State Employee Benefits
- Level II H23B - $40, Full State Employee Benefits
- Level III H23C - $43, Full State Employee Benefits
Applicants with a Master's Degree in Social Work will receive a salary enhancement of an additional 5%.
On-call roles will receive an additional bonus ranging from $100 to $150 biweekly, based on responsibilities.
Travel is extensive. A valid driver's license and maintenance of required car insurance are mandatory. State vehicles will be available for use in fulfilling job responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Child Welfare Specialist, Level I
- Completion of 90 credit hours from an accredited college or university.
- OR 3 years of relevant experience in child welfare.
- OR A combination of education and experience.
Child Welfare Specialist, Level II
- A bachelor's degree in any discipline is required.
- OR One year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
Child Welfare Specialist, Level III
- A Master's degree is required.
- OR a Bachelor's Degree plus one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
- OR Two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
Key Responsibilities
- Post Adoption Services provide necessary social services, medical, and financial support to adoptive families caring for children with special needs.
*Manage a specialized caseload focused on post-adoption services to ensure safe and permanent placements for children with special needs.
*Conduct Adoption Assistance Annual Reviews, audit and rectify weekly reports, and manage finance rejection claims. Process approved adoption assistance agreements and finalize adoption packets and modifications.
