Job Description

The Counterparty Risk Manager will join a team that supports BOK Financials Broker and Bank Dealer operations.

This role will be responsible for performing credit analysis, assessments, negotiation, and management of legal documents, interfacing with various trading desks to ascertain risk appetite by asset class and counterparty, presenting findings and credit grade recommendations to Senior Loan Committee (SLC) for approval.


The credit analyst will be responsible for maintaining multiple aspects of counterparty relationships, communicating with those counterparties, and maintaining a vital database of required regulatory and operational information.

This role will be responsible for collaboration across multiple business units to ensure counterparty, credit, market, and liquidity risk are appropriately managed and communicated throughout the organization.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You're tasked with scrutinizing, negotiating terms, and storing legal documents from counterparties.
  • Through engagement with senior management, Market Risk, and trading desks, you will assess the organization's readiness to implement risk limits at the counterparty level.
  • You will be responsible for conducting regular assessments and continuous monitoring of trading partners and suggesting suitable credit limits.
  • You'll supervise counterparty risk relative to set limits and alert management of potential oversteps.
  • You will implement AI powered tools for live risk tracking and create a risk dashboard for top executives to get immediate updates.
  • You will be responsible for creating and presenting reports on counterparty credit risk to both senior management and the Senior Loan Committee.
  • You will foster stakeholder relationships and collaborate on counterparty risk management and reporting projects.
  • You will scrutinize and enhance business workflows and data requirements to address challenges and boost process productivity.
  • You will be responsible for upholding CCR procedures and collaborating with the secondary defense line on relevant policies.
Education & Experience Requirements


This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related field of study and ­­3-5 years of directly related experience ­­­­­­­in counterparty risk management, credit analysis, commercial loan underwriting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MBA/CFA preferred.

  • In depth knowledge of counterparty legal documentation with emphasis on ISDA agreements, CSAs, and ACAs.
  • Familiarity with Uncleared Margin Rules (UMR) and other processes specific to Bank and Broker Dealer.
  • Past exposure to financial institutions: Registered Investment Advisors, Broker Dealers, Banks.
  • Strong financial aptitude in credit analysis and/or financial statement analysis, preferably within the trading/capital markets or with a financial institution.
  • Knowledge of financial institution regulatory rules and procedures.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and SQL preferred.
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg and Power BI preferred.
