Main Purpose of Job

To provide administrative data analysis support to the Director, Deputy Director, and Coordinators of Department of Labor Correctional Education. Provide secretarial, record keeping, including expense account, contracts, account records (procurement of materials and contracted services) budget, note taking, and data processing. The data includes school performance, budget, and program operations.\r

POSITION DUTIES

Facilitate general clerical duties for the Director, Academic Coordinator and assigned Coordinators Manage specific assignments on an ongoing basis, prepare agendas, make travel arrangements, process Telecommunication Service Requests (TSR), prepare reports and other documents using word processing, spreadsheets, database and/or presentation software. Maintain office supplies, order supplies through FMIS and monitor copier supplies, open, sort and disseminate mail/faxes. Answer telephones, refer calls, take accurate messages, provide information and represent the department appropriately over the phone, and other duties assigned.�\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.\r
Experience: Two years of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.�\r
Notes:\r
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year of the required experience.\r
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Two (2) years of analysis experience: Collecting, analyzing information, problem\r
solving, and making informed decisions.�\r

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r
\r
