We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking assistant construction project manager – transit and rail focused - to join our established and growing team in New York.

In this position they will assist in the development of task order proposals; support the management team in tracking task budgets, monitoring activity schedules, and implementing product quality standards; and otherwise support the project and program managers.

You'll be responsible for:

Performing a variety of engineering/ project management duties related to coordination, quality checks, reporting, planning, and delivering.
Assisting in leading the project team (architects and engineers), or multiple teams in the delivery of a wide range of projects in partnership with the project director and/or project manager.
Ensuring project completion within budget, schedule and in conformance with specifications
Reviewing contracts and sub-contracts and assisting to manage subcontractors.
Monitoring project financials and reporting to the project manager.
Assisting in leading calls with project team and preparing meeting minutes.
Developing and maintaining design schedules for approval.
Assisting in preparing project design review presentation.
Resolving field-initiated questions with the technical design team.
Coordinating and directing activities among the design groups.
Participating and attending design review meetings and recording meeting minutes and tracking action items.
Coordinating the development of project deliverables with the design team.

You'll need to have:

New York/New Jersey specific experience. Amtrak, MTA, NJIT, LIRR, MNRR, NYCT experience preferred.
Experience as a project engineer or assistant project manager.
Willing to work a variety of schedules and in a field office environment.
Bachelor's degree in engineering (or related field) and related work experience.
Engineering Training (EIT) Certificate may be required.
CCM or PMP preferred.
Working knowledge of CAD, Microsoft office and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.
Familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required.
Minimum OSHA 30 required.
