Position: Senior PMO Project Leader

Engagement: Consulting Role

The Senior PMO Project Leader is a pivotal management position responsible for enhancing and facilitating the organization's project initiatives and structured operational activities. This role involves guiding the Project Management Office (PMO) team in integrating technology into business processes, elevating the overall Program and Portfolio Management (PPM) maturity, and ensuring adherence to project plans and expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with senior executives and business stakeholders to establish the PMO policy framework, encompassing the charter, policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Directs the identification and development of PMO roles, team structure, and recruitment strategies to fulfill the PMO mission as outlined in the charter.
  • Oversees the selection and implementation of project management methodologies, reporting tools, templates, guidelines, and standards to create a robust framework that supports project teams and stakeholders, enhancing the likelihood of successful project outcomes.
  • Designs and implements a comprehensive project management training program for PMO personnel, as well as a recruitment tool for adjunct project managers from various business units to promote PMO scalability.
  • Formulates and executes a PPM Maturity strategy aimed at consistently advancing the PMO's maturity.
  • Creates and implements a portfolio management reporting strategy to deliver timely, accurate, and valuable information to program and project stakeholders.
  • Works closely with Enterprise Architecture and Business Relationship Management to ensure alignment between project scope, architectural guidelines, and business requirements.
  • Provides ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluation for the PMO team and adjunct project managers.

Qualifications:

  • At least ten years of experience in Senior Project Management, preferably within the Life Sciences sector.
  • Demonstrated success in the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of a PMO.
  • Proven leadership experience in guiding teams to deliver solutions for a variety of business challenges.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • A combination of business acumen, technical knowledge, financial insight, analytical skills, and communication abilities, including the capacity to convey technical concepts to business partners and vice versa.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, planning, and execution capabilities.
  • A collaborative team player dedicated to building relationships and delivering outstanding service.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business management, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, and similar PPM tools.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Visio.
