About Project FIND: Project FIND is dedicated to offering essential services and support to low-income and homeless seniors, enabling them to lead fulfilling and independent lives. The organization currently manages three supportive housing facilities accommodating approximately 600 individuals, alongside four senior centers serving over 3,000 members. Our diverse community includes individuals ranging from active seniors to those who are frail or homebound, as well as the homeless. Project FIND plays a vital role in providing housing, meals, and programs that assist individuals in overcoming the challenges associated with aging, while promoting community involvement and healthy lifestyles.

Role Summary:

The Senior Program Manager (SPM) at Woodstock OAC is responsible for overseeing the Program Coordinator, Administrative Assistant, maintenance personnel, volunteers, and interns. The SPM collaborates with the Food Service Manager to ensure the efficient operation of kitchen staff and meal services. Daily responsibilities include managing operations, ensuring program deliverables are met, and identifying community needs while adhering to agency policies and governmental regulations. The SPM is tasked with supervising staff to guarantee that data collection and reporting procedures related to deliverables and outcomes are effectively managed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct daily operations at the OAC, including meal services and program activities.
  • Manage site logistics, ensuring upkeep, safety, and optimal use of space.
  • Coordinate programmatic interventions with staff, consultants, volunteers, and interns.
  • Develop and maintain external partnerships to fulfill programmatic commitments.
  • Monitor data collection and tracking processes, ensuring timely submission of deliverables to funders.
  • Supervise administrative procedures and contract reporting for programs.
  • Ensure compliance with Project FIND, State, County, NYC Aging, and NYS DOHMH standards and regulations.
  • Oversee food pantry operations and collaborate with staff to enhance services for dual program participants.
  • Lead advocacy initiatives and volunteer projects across OAC locations.
  • Work with the Director of Community Services on professional development and performance evaluations.
  • Support staff development by implementing professional growth plans and managing performance evaluations.
  • Provide assistance at other Project FIND locations as required.
  • Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned by the Director of Community Services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social services or a related field, with a minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a nonprofit environment, or four years of experience in nonprofit program management.
  • Preferred experience in mental health services or a related discipline.
  • Willingness to learn Project FIND and NYC Aging databases.
  • S-95 Certificate of Fitness must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • Familiarity with NYC Aging compliance standards and DOHMH nutrition and sanitation regulations.
  • Understanding of protocols for purchasing and safeguarding food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of food cost control strategies, including purchasing and inventory management.
  • Possession or ability to obtain a NYC Food Handlers license.
  • Experience in budget and financial management within the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Desire to acquire new skills and knowledge to enhance program innovation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to understand and integrate diverse perspectives.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Outlook, Publisher, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Work Schedule:

This position requires a commitment of five workdays per week (35 hours), typically from Monday to Saturday, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Flexibility to work on holidays and weekends may be necessary.

Project FIND participates in E-Verify, confirming employment eligibility through an electronic database maintained by the Social Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security. The E-Verify process is conducted alongside the Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification.
