The Senior PMO Project Leader is a pivotal management position dedicated to enhancing the organization’s project and program initiatives. This role involves guiding the Project Management Office (PMO) team to effectively integrate technology solutions into the business framework, elevating the overall Program and Portfolio Management (PPM) capabilities, and ensuring adherence to project plans and expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with executive leadership and stakeholders to establish the PMO policy framework, encompassing the charter, policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Directs the identification and development of PMO roles, team structure, and recruitment strategies aligned with the PMO mission as outlined in the charter.
  • Oversees the implementation of project management methodologies, reporting tools, templates, guidelines, and standards to create a robust framework that enhances project delivery success.
  • Designs and executes a comprehensive project management training program for PMO personnel and develops a strategy to recruit and prepare adjunct project managers from various business units.
  • Implements a PPM Maturity strategy aimed at continuously advancing the PMO's maturity level.
  • Creates and executes a portfolio management reporting strategy to deliver timely, accurate, and actionable information to stakeholders involved in programs and projects.
  • Works closely with Enterprise Architecture and Business Relationship Management to ensure alignment between project scopes, architectural standards, and business requirements.
  • Provides ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations for the PMO team and adjunct project managers.

Qualifications:

  • At least ten years of experience in Senior Project Management, preferably within the Life Sciences sector.
  • Demonstrated success in designing, implementing, and enhancing a PMO.
  • Proven leadership experience in guiding teams to deliver solutions for diverse business challenges.
  • Possession of Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • A combination of business acumen, technical knowledge, financial insight, analytical skills, and effective communication abilities.
  • Capability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical skills with strategic conceptual thinking and planning capabilities.
  • A collaborative mindset with a commitment to building relationships and delivering exceptional service.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business management, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, and similar PPM tools.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Visio.
