As the Assistant Chief Engineering Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel facilities. You will assist in managing the day-to-day maintenance activities, supporting the Engineering team, and ensuring that our hotel remains in top-notch condition. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about hospitality, has a strong background in maintenance, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Maintenance Operations: Assist in managing and coordinating daily maintenance activities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general facility repairs.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Ensure the timely completion of preventive maintenance tasks to avoid breakdowns and prolong the life of equipment.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor the engineering staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Collaborate with the front office and housekeeping teams to promptly address and resolve any maintenance issues that may impact guest satisfaction.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and hotel policies.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and maintaining an adequate inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Budgeting: Support the Chief Engineer in managing the maintenance budget, including tracking expenses and optimizing costs.
  • Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to maintenance emergencies, including after-hours call-outs as needed.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Contribute to the hotel's sustainability efforts by identifying opportunities for energy conservation and waste reduction.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a hotel or hospitality maintenance role, with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and team members.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical) are a plus.
  • Availability: Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
