Possess mastery knowledge of creation of designs and audience engagement programs for display advertising, search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM), social media and email marketing.

Possess command of graphic design principles with a focus on creative direction, including familiarity with printing technologies for producing illustrated books of art, advertising and institutional marketing materials, banners, wayfinding signage and graphics for architectural spaces and interactive design and digital media production.

Possess mastery knowledge of brand strategy, design development, implementation, and consistency on an institution-wide level.

Collaborate with Digital Content Strategy & Experience, Curatorial, Learning and Engagement, Communications, Information Technology and Visitor Experience and Evaluation to define the brand story and to manage use of the brand in printed and digital formats.

Make recommendations to the Executive Officers on and oversees approved, multi-million dollar federal and private operating budgets. Oversee allocation of space, time, staff, and equipment. Enhance revenue potential, which fluctuates annually.
Possess mastery level knowledge of writing and editing in English and equally of the arts and art museums.

Possess knowledge of the profession gained through participation in organizations such as College Art Association (CAA), American Association of Museums (AAM), Association of American University Presses (AAUP), International Association of Museum Publishers (IAMP), National Museum Publishing Seminars (NMPS), American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) and MuseWeb.

Plan for, direct and carry out staff operations. Provide administrative and technical oversight to subordinate staff.
