Key Responsibilities

Bloomberg Economics provides an extensive macroeconomic research service for its subscribers, featuring in-depth forecasts bolstered by original thematic research. As we expand our offerings to include geoeconomic analysis, we aim to achieve comprehensive coverage of critical regions and issues, from the Taiwan Strait to the Middle East and Latin America.

The primary objective is to furnish Bloomberg clients with enhanced insights into the dynamics that influence economics, markets, and policy.

  • Collaborate with a team of analysts to craft and refine geoeconomic research that elucidates the impact of geopolitics on the global economy and markets.
  • Edit urgent analyses of breaking news related to geopolitical events affecting the economy, including tariffs, sanctions, and conflicts.
  • Oversee long-term projects that integrate expertise, data, and models to explore the interplay between geopolitics, national politics, and economics, and its implications for markets.
Success Metrics

Success will be evaluated based on the quality and timeliness of editing, as well as the impact of deliverables across all Bloomberg channels.

  • Edit high-profile projects aimed at a global audience.
  • Ensure that geoeconomic analyses are concise, engaging, well-organized, and delivered promptly, often under stringent deadlines.
  • Enhance the technical proficiency of our economists by applying sound news judgment regarding content creation and framing.
  • Work collaboratively with various teams across news and research to maximize audience reach, including editing materials for diverse platforms and coordinating with regional desks and editors.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Over 10 years of professional experience in financial or political journalism.
  • Experience in a fast-paced news environment.
  • A proven ability to craft narratives suitable for a front-page audience, along with the capacity to deliver concise, structured pieces focused on accuracy and clarity.
  • Expertise in editing technical content, a solid understanding of fundamental economic, geopolitical, and financial concepts, and the ability to articulate complex issues in an accessible manner.
  • Journalism experience addressing topics at the intersection of geopolitics, economic statecraft, and financial markets.
  • Experience in generating content across various formats, from rapid responses to significant events to collaborative long-term projects.
  • Additional knowledge in key regions, emerging technologies, political science, economics, military studies, or geoeconomic analysis is advantageous.
