POSITION DUTIES

Working under the direction of the Assistant\r
State Superintendent for Educator Effectiveness, The Coordinator of Educator\r
Effectiveness and Support provides best-in-class program leadership to\r
coordinate, develop, implement, support, and evaluate local education agency\r
(LEA) induction programs, professional learning initiatives, and educator evaluation\r
models. This position oversees evidence-based professional development for LEAs\r
aligned to induction and mentorship practices that support educator\r
effectiveness and student outcomes. The Coordinator will support the continuous\r
development of teachers and school leaders through effective professional\r
learning that is relevant, job-embedded, and aligned to the career ladder for\r
educators. This position provides leadership for compliance monitoring,\r
technical assistance, and evaluation of programs established in Pillar II of\r
the Blueprint for Maryland's Future.\r
Responsibilities include:\r
\r
\r
Coordinate and support statewide\r
induction programs and initiatives.\r
Provide leadership and guidance in the\r
development and alignment of professional learning and mentorship.\r
Prepares and revises induction\r
standards, guidelines and framework documents for LEAs.\r
Monitors and updates resources on the\r
Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) website.\r
Leads stakeholder focus groups,\r
committees and work groups related to developing statewide research-based\r
retention initiatives.\r
Organizes and facilitates training on\r
how to design and support collaborative professional learning.\r
Collaborate with the Statewide National\r
Board Coordinator to support coordination and monitoring for strategies and\r
initiatives including the career ladder for educators, teacher outreach\r
programs, and Teacher Collaborative Grant.\r
Develop and revise standards and\r
regulations pertaining to educator evaluations.\r
Provides compliance monitoring for LEAs\r
to ensure educator evaluations are conducted in alignment with Blueprint for\r
Maryland's Future and the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR).\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:���A\r
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent of 36 credit hours of post-baccalaureate\r
coursework from an accredited college or university.\r
Experience: Five\r
years of related experience in coordinating or administering education programs\r
or services, including two years of experience directly related to Educator Induction\r
Programs, mentorship or educator professional development.\r
Notes:\r
1 Candidates may\r
substitute the possession of a Master's degree or the equivalent of 36 credit\r
hours of post baccalaureate course work in Education or a related area for the one\r
year of required experience directly related to the position option.\r

2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a\r
Doctorate degree at an accredited college or university in a field related to\r
the position for 2 years of the required experience directly related to the\r
position option.\r

3. The required field of education and\r
experience are unique for each option and are established by MSDE in accordance\r
with Education Article, Section 2-104 of the Annotated Code of Maryland.� The specific education and experience\r
qualifications for each position are on record in the Office of Human Resources.\r

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces\r
military service experience as a commissioned officer in Education Program\r
classifications or Education Program specialty codes in the Education field of\r
work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.\r

policies, and issues affecting teacher education programs\r
