Position Overview
The Clinical Education Coordinator is pivotal in aligning the educational objectives of our healthcare system with effective training programs. This role involves assessing and enhancing patient care processes while serving as a clinical expert within the department. The coordinator will leverage evidence-based practices to establish clinical standards for our teams, operating under minimal supervision and reporting directly to the Director of Education & Compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and document the educational needs of clinical staff, ensuring timely and effective training solutions.
- Facilitate the delivery of educational content by collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to promote knowledge transfer.
- Support leadership in fostering staff commitment to organizational goals through targeted educational initiatives.
- Implement evidence-based improvements to enhance the quality and efficiency of patient care.
- Collaborate in the development of practice standards aimed at achieving optimal patient outcomes.
- Utilize creativity in curriculum development to engage learners effectively.
- Design comprehensive clinical orientation programs to onboard skilled team members.
- Ensure educational programs comply with division, unit, and regulatory standards.
- Establish performance indicators to evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Mentor and support clinicians in collaboration with professional development leaders.
- Analyze trends in satisfaction and quality outcomes to guide continuing education efforts.
- Oversee the Learning Management System (LMS) and manage upgrades to meet evolving educational needs.
- Promote a culture of collaboration and continuous learning within the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
- At least five years of progressive experience in clinical management.
- A minimum of two years as a Registered Nurse.
- Seven years of experience in adult education and training within a clinical environment.
- Current RN license in the State of Maryland is mandatory.
