Summary

The Environmental Health & Safety Manager will establish and promote a safe, accident free, and healthy work environment by overseeing and supporting the vision and direction of the Company. This role supports the Operational leadership at each of our ten Timber Creek branded facilities and collaborates with the FCA family counterparts as appropriate. This role is imperative in ensuring that the company offers a safe working environment and employees are working safely. The professional in this role is expected to model professional behavior and consistently demonstrate leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

Formulate general safety policies and procedures to be followed by company or plant personnel in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations. Prepare and report on safety related metrics monthly, including completing OSHA reporting requirements. Consults with all plants on design and use of equipment, shops, fire prevention, guarding, documentation and safety program. Inspects company plants to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards and recommends corrective or preventative measures. Ensure company is up to date with all LOTO procedures on an annual basis. Keeps managers and employees alert as to the hazards of working with toxic fumes, dangerous chemicals, and any other hazardous substances. Maintains Emergency Response Plans for employees in all locations and is responsible for training and updating as needed. Maintain Company's MVR program. Report all Worker's Compensation Claims to insurance company and follow up on open claims. Participate in the investigation and review of accidents, injuries, incidents, property damages, safety related complaints. Create and communicate training programs which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness. Maintains safety files, and training records. Schedule DOT inspections, training, and program essentials. Responsible for environmental regulations. Coordinate and participate in safety committee meetings. Ensure all Plants are prepared for OSHA on-site visits.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

An associate degree in safety or a related field is required; or the equivalent 4+ years of work experience,

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents in English, and communicate those out effectively. Professional communication is required.

Analytical Skills

Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills are required. Ability to calculate figures and use of extensive math skills. Must have excellent organizational skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to shift priorities quickly.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to work in a computer system generating reports and metrics. Knowledge of the Microsoft Suite required.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Communication Skills

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal communication is required. Must possess intellectual curiosity and a drive for continuous improvement.
