Job Overview:
As a Safety Compliance Specialist, you will be instrumental in fostering a secure and healthy workplace by collaborating with various project teams and executing thorough safety initiatives.
Your primary responsibilities will include performing safety evaluations, leading emergency preparedness activities, and promoting a safety-oriented culture within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. **Safety Evaluations:**
- Conduct regular safety assessments, including documented safety evaluations, SWPPP reviews, equipment checks, and tool inspections.
- Report findings to the Project Superintendent and Operations team, ensuring that recommended changes are implemented.
2. **Incident Investigations:**
- Investigate accidents and incidents, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of worker compensation claims.
- Provide support in gathering evidence and materials related to accidents and injuries.
3. **Safety Training:**
- Organize and facilitate safety training sessions for supervisors and staff, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain and update safety training records and certification information for personnel.
4. **Environmental Compliance:**
- Review and update SWP3 Plans for assigned projects, reporting on pollution prevention measures.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
5. **Emergency Preparedness:**
- Participate in crisis management planning and conduct drills to enhance readiness for unforeseen incidents.
- Coordinate effective responses to safety emergencies to minimize impact.
6. **Regulatory Adherence:**
- Stay updated on local, state, and federal safety regulations and ensure compliance in all operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in safety roles, preferably within the construction or solar industry.
- Must possess OSHA 30 certification and CPR/First Aid AED certification.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with safety management software and incident reporting tools is advantageous.
