Direct Reports: Splicing Coordinator(s), In-House & Contractor Splicer(s)

Reports To: Director of Splicing

Position Summary

The Splicing Supervisor plays a critical role in managing the splicing operations essential for various projects. This position involves overseeing all splicing tasks within designated areas and directing both in-house and contracted splicing teams to ensure timely project completion while maintaining daily quality control in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and demonstrate a thorough understanding of safety regulations.
  • Monitor work activities and provide necessary training to crews, ensuring quality control is upheld.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess work progress and quality.
  • Facilitate teamwork to achieve high-quality outcomes within strict deadlines.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to enhance team members' skills and capabilities.
  • Manage relationships with splicing subcontractors and oversee in-house splicing teams.
  • Coordinate work production tasks in relation to invoicing.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor new crew members effectively.
  • Motivate teams positively, especially during challenging conditions or project delays.
  • Perform quality assurance inspections during and after project completion to ensure adherence to customer specifications.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong critical thinking and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the capacity to plan, predict, investigate, and resolve issues.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, leading by example to ensure project completion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective interaction with teams and individuals.
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in fiber splicing.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with management and clients.
  • Willingness to travel to various job sites as needed.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction maps, drawings, and splice diagrams.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Over 5 years of experience as a Fiber Splicer.
  • In-depth knowledge of splicing, cable preparation, bonding & grounding, and fiber testing/troubleshooting.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plus.

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 Annually
