Sr Manager, Business Strategy & Development

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for guiding strategy development by working with the Verity senior leadership team and enterprise resources to identify, investigate, and validate the feasibility of new business ideas and opportunities, whether additive or extensions of current lines of business, working with senior leaders within Verity.

This includes developing and managing an overall framework of processes to consider customer and competitive product idea insights, assessing of potential market opportunity, internal capabilities and needs, economic value, and options to integrate such opportunities into Verity's existing business growth plans/roadmap.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Initiate and drive development of a strategy development framework to rationalize new business opportunities and validate their strategic value to the Verity business – whether immediate or long term – additive or new.
  • Research and rationalize new opportunities against considerations such as regulatory shifts, market dynamics, customer and internal stakeholder feedback, competitor strengths and weaknesses.
  • Manage key strategic, cross-functional new business initiatives from incubation state to steady-state market delivery until key functional areas are operational (sales, marketing, product development, operations, finance).
  • Lead a collaborative process with internal Verity teams to rationalize the feasibility/viability, cost/benefit, timeframe and other critical elements of adopting new business opportunities, including developing of concrete options for bringing such opportunities to market.
  • Develop and present executive summary of findings and recommendations on new business opportunities for discussion and decision around adoption into the formal strategic plans/roadmap.
  • Assess the 340B and other market landscape and periodically update leadership on competitive trends and analysis of internal and external data to inform the strategy development and ongoing competitive guidance.
  • Participate in the annual Strategic Memo process that summarizes the Verity long-range business plan.
  • Participate as needed at industry events and conferences and participate in other partnership networking activities.
  • Develop and manage / co-manage (where applicable) strategic relationships with 3rd party institutions as needed (e.g., APEXUS, HRSA, pharmacy consulting firms)
  • Maintain up-to-date information on industry trends and the competitive landscape as a thought leader and consultant, acting as a subject matter expert.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree required - master's degree preferred in Business or related field. Pharmacy or other technical background preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience working in healthcare technology or 340B leadership, with a proven background successfully leading teams in the pharmacy/ technology space.
  • 10+ years of relevant healthcare sales or senior leadership experience with large health system sales and/or GPO sales.
  • 5+ year's senior leadership experience in 340B space.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of successfully delivering growth strategies and ensuring execution.
  • Well-honed consulting skills enabling the individual to work with others to elicit information, to think objectively, analytically and to influence outcomes positively.
  • Fact-based problem solver with the ability to evaluate alternative courses of action and make sound management decisions.
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills including ability to manage ambiguity and fill the gaps with relevant analysis and project data-based strategic path.
  • Strategic acumen and agility to think objectively and quickly respond to dynamic business challenges.
  • Experience with cross-functional initiatives, with a high degree of complexity.
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead, influence and problem-solve across the Verity organization.
  • Strong financial modeling capability and financial management skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to present and influence Senior and Executive leaders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative group.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 135, ,300 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
