Position Overview

The Director of Capital Markets plays a pivotal role in shaping the balance sheet strategy for Ent Credit Union, ensuring alignment with our organizational objectives while optimizing value and mitigating interest rate exposure. This leadership position involves the acquisition and disposition of loans, management of the fixed income investment portfolio, development of pricing models, and formulation of derivative strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and determine the optimal mix of assets and liabilities on the balance sheet, advising on acquisitions, retention, or sales.
  • Allocate surplus funds in compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies, while evaluating and proposing new investment strategies.
  • Oversee the secondary loan operations, including the analysis of loan valuations and strategic recommendations for transactions.
  • Conduct thorough pre-purchase assessments, ensuring all documentation meets accuracy standards.
  • Lead and develop the Capital Markets team, focusing on training, performance evaluations, and skill enhancement.
  • Ensure adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act and related regulations.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Master's Degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Asset Liability Management (ALM) or investment management, with at least 5 years in a finance-related role.
  • Experience in investment portfolio management and derivatives for hedging purposes is essential.
  • Demonstrated management experience of 4+ years.
Technical Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of various investment types and analytical techniques.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and evaluative capabilities.
  • Ability to create complex financial models and reporting tools.
  • Understanding of risks associated with interest rates, liquidity, and credit.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Certifications

Preferred: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)

Work Environment

This role requires a mix of sitting, standing, and occasional lifting, with a focus on maintaining a productive and collaborative work atmosphere.
