About the position

We are currently seeking an experienced Full-Time Technology Integrator to join our dynamic faculty. The Technology Integrator is responsible for collaborating with classroom teachers to integrate the usage of our Maker Space and the design cycle with hands-on content related projects. In addition they will be responsible for scaffolding fundamental technology skills that students need as they progress through their education and beyond. A strong background in Math instruction is preferred. The position will also be responsible for teaching math to students in Grades 1-5 and differentiating instruction to meet those students' needs.

Essential Functions:

  • Create cross curricular integration by working with faculty to enhance lessons across subject areas using analog tools as well as digital applications
  • Teach students technology skills such as: Navigating a Chromebook, Keyboarding and editing skills, Digital executive functioning skills, Google Suite applications and other relevant software at an age appropriate level
  • Explore next level skills such as coding, 3D design and gamification
  • Partner with the school psychology team to implement our Digital Wellness curriculum and teach digital safety such as: Appropriate internet use, Digital footprint, Password protocols, Social Media awareness Online communication, etc.
  • Partner and collaborate with educational leaders and homeroom teams to design and implement individualized technology skills and math curriculum
  • Teach elementary-age small math groups and provide additional remedial math support as needed
  • Develop a joyful and productive learning community where students feel safe to take risks
  • Display a commitment to anti-bias and anti-racism work, promoting inclusion, belonging and equity through their work in the classroom and school community
  • Develop lesson plans and supplementary materials in accordance with the principles of Universal Design for Learning
  • Establish class routines and behavioral expectations
  • Conducts conferences with parents/guardians three times a year and as necessary
  • Attend and participate in faculty meetings in the designated division
  • Attend full faculty and staff meetings
  • Participate in division-wide activities, trips and events
  • Be an active member of the Gaynor community Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in a Technology, STEM field or in education; Master's degree preferred
    • Cross Curricular and Technology Integration experience
    • Experience teaching technology to elementary-age students
    • Curate developmentally appropriate classes in Digital Wellness in collaboration with a school psychologist
    • Knowledge of a variety of math programs; experience with Singapore Math and Stern Structural Arithmetic preferred
    • Understanding of how to teach using the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) approach
    • Experience working with children with learning differences preferred
    • Will display time management to maximize student learning
    • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
    • Sets a respectful and positive tone in the classroom; ability to be flexible to adjust classroom instruction
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students staff and parents
    • Proficient in Google Workspace (Drive, Docs & Slides)
