POSITION SUMMARY:

The Advanced Energy, Incorporated Regional Sales Manager's (RSM) primary responsibility is to grow revenue in their assigned region. They will manage and own all aspects of sales and support activities in their region. The individual selected will be responsible for prospecting and penetrating new and existing accounts and managing and leveraging our manufacturers sales representative and distributor network within their region to achieve their objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Grows Advanced Energy revenue within assigned region
  • Assesses and qualifies sales opportunities to provide direction and guidance for the rest of the organization. Includes ongoing updates of opportunities and forecasts in
  • Establishes differentiated relationships at assigned accounts through face-to-face meetings to ensure an intimate, timely, and firsthand knowledge of customers' needs and desires and works to exceed them
  • Develops and executes sales penetration strategies for key accounts and region
  • Works with customers and our FAEs to identify and define new product requirements. Feedbacks this information to Product marketing teams so they can develop improved solutions
  • Manages manufacturers sales rep partners; which includes growing AE's mindshare, regular customer visits with them, providing ongoing product training, and other activities as needed
  • Manages Distribution partners in assigned region; including joint sales calls and regular product training for local branches
  • Provides initial level of support at accounts and arranges for advanced levels of support from AE customer service, applications, engineering, marketing, etc.
  • Travels as needed to achieve objectives

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • THIS POSITION CAN BE LOCATED IN MIDWEST REGIONS OF OHIO, MICHIGAN, GREATER CHICAGO, ILLINOIS OR MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of technical account management/sales experience; preferably selling power solutions
  • Proven experience selling and/or supporting a variety of high-tech accounts, primarily in the industrial and medical markets; but also, helpful to have experience with the computer, semiconductor, or storage markets
  • Working knowledge of and existing relationships with the target account base in the territory
  • Previous experience working with manufacturers reps and distribution channels. Proven technical management with a track record of leading, inspiring, and motivating these partners
  • Ability to quantify and confirm the business opportunity that a specific customer opportunity represents and can prioritize that appropriately versus other opportunities
  • Can build cross-departmental customer support teams (applications, engineering, quality, marketing, sales, operations) to consistently improve customer satisfaction and increase our share
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels of personnel, from the individual buyer up to the executive level, both internally and externally
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to concisely summarize highly technical concepts
  • Passion for winning and a strong desire to be challenged and constantly improve

EDUCATION:

  • BSEE or equivalent degree

COMPENSATION:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $140,000 to $160,000 per year.

Additionally, this position is eligible for the Sales Incentive Plan with a specific target amount to be determined based on the role.
