CSPS Materials Coordinator

Reporting to the Materials Supervisor, The Materials Coordinator provides logistical support to the Central Sterile Processing and Supply (CSPS) department through routine supply replenishment workflows. The Materials Coordinator duties focus on the daily receiving, breakdown, distribution and stocking of generic supplies throughout the Perioperative Services footprint.
  • Receiving & Stocking:
    • Responsible for de-casing orders in breakdown areas, removing all cardboard to preserve a clean environment.
    • Handles and distributes supplies safely to maintain sterile product integrity.
    • Responsible for the stocking of all non-specialty supplies and inventory items in designated supply locations.
    • Replenish supply locations using FIFO (First In, First Out-rotational) procedure to avoid stockpiling and ensure sterility of product.
    • Consistently check for outdates and removes expired products from supply locations.
    • Gathers unused sterile supplies and returns them to their designated stock locations.
    • Monitor overstock storage areas and restock depleted stock locations accordingly.
    • Maintain overall tidiness, cleanliness and good order in supply locations; ensures items are properly shelved.
    • On a periodic basis and as requested, cleans storage bins and shelves to maintain dust-free environment.
    • Maintain flow and cleanliness of breakdown areas in a neat and clean manner with minimal inventory storage. Works closely with Environmental Services to ensure waste, pallets and skids are clear of all egress.
    • Provides support to end users and staff members regarding product location, delivery and returns as requested.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
  • Strong work ethic and flexibility are essential.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must have basic computer skills; including Microsoft Office and similar programs.
EDUCATION:

Minimum Required:

High school diploma, GED or equivalent

Preferred:

Some college or Associate's Degree

Preferred: Customer Service Experience (greater than 1 year)

Experience in an OR/Sterile Processing Environment (greater than 1 year)

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Involves large amounts of time walking and standing.
  • Involves large amount of time spent breaking down pallets and moving contents on rolling carts.
  • Exposure to the Operating Room environment is a requirement.
  • A strict dress code and professional appearing including wearing surgical scrubs is required.
  • Must be able to frequently lift up to 35 lbs. stoop, bend, pull, and place and retrieve material.
