The Technical Specialist plans, forecasts, justifies, implements and maintains all system and network hardware. You will maintain online service level agreements to ensure productivity. You will also set up and support hardware, operating systems and application software. This position supports the local and wide area network infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
- Develops creative solutions.
- Presents options and makes recommendations for solutions.
- Evaluates vendor quotes; performs cost analysis and cost justification.
- Oversees resolution of system problems.
- Ensures maximum availability of all systems to internal and external users.
- Ensures complete documentation of all problem situations and resolutions by network/hardware support staff.
- Reports status of problem situations to management.
- Contributes to design, engineering and implementation of system infrastructure.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.
- An additional five to seven years of progressively responsible related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
Certifications:
- For Information Technology Division caregivers, ITIL Foundations certification is required within 6 months of position start date.
Complexity of Work:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of five years directly related experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
