As the Director, Office of Litigation Support, responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Performs the full range of supervisory responsibilities for litigation support analysts, case managers, IT specialists, and contractor personnel.
  • Provides guidance to staff on new litigation support applications and litigation support databases.
  • Reviews technical specifications and conducts or oversees staff training to ensure the success of the effort.
  • Participates in the coordination of overall policy regarding the establishment and use of litigation support processing systems throughout the Division.
  • Develops standard procedures for litigation system design, development, and documentation and assists in their enforcement.
  • Manages a multi-million dollar, multi-year, multi-source litigation support budget, establishing and rearranging priorities.
  • Consults with and advises organizational elements of the Division on the identification of activities susceptible to litigation support applications.
  • Provides technical guidance and support to Division management officials in the design and implementation of litigation support systems.
  • Develops database applications which can be tailored for specific case needs and turned over to the sections for use in many small and medium-sized cases.
  • Reviews or designs and develops the litigation support computer applications and documentation required for database systems to control, index, analyze, store, and retrieve evidentiary documents and/or data.
  • Develops and provides overall guidance to and maintains effective control over litigation support contractor personnel to provide litigation support professional services.
  • Manages Contracting Officer's Representative (CORs) who administer various litigation support contracts.

    • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
    • You must complete a background investigation to include pre-employment drug testing.

    • You must complete or have completed a one-year probationary period.
    • You will be required to complete a Financial Disclosure Report, SF-278 before entrance-on-duty and will be required to provide this information annually thereafter.
    • You must maintain a bank account for direct deposit of salary.

      Qualifications

      To qualify at GS-15: You must have one year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-14 Federal grade level or above managing activities for the development of litigation support systems and related information systems, data acquisition, and case analysis and presentation.

      Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skill and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

      Time in Grade : Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements (one year at the next lower grade) by the closing date of announcement.
