Major duties and responsibilities include:
Mentoring, advising, and assisting other attorneys throughout all stages of administrative litigation.

This may include assessing and evaluating cases, developing theories, providing sound procedural recommendations, developing and executing discovery plans, preparing witnesses, reviewing motions and briefs, preparing for trial, and advising on post-trial proceedings.

Directly supporting, and assisting other attorneys in supporting, the Department of Justice in trial and appellate litigation, including consulting with Justice concerning whether the agency should seek further review of adverse decisions.

Assisting the Associate General Counsel as needed in the assignment and review of litigation matters.

Representing the agency in important and sensitive administrative litigation in fora including the General Accountability Office and Civilian Board of Contract Appeals.

Providing legal advice and assistance to OPM leaders across a diverse and interesting portfolio, potentially including compensation, leave, retirement, health benefits, life insurance, torts, program fraud, and contract and procurement matters.

Other duties as assigned.
