As part of our mission to assist the Department of Justice, you will help clients manage the intricacies of data proliferation and the evolving technical and legal challenges associated with eDiscovery.
The Discovery Paralegal team employs a collaborative methodology to conduct legal document evaluations, adhering to established protocols and practices, utilizing commercial electronic document review platforms and tools. You will also be responsible for peer reviews to ensure accuracy and provide constructive feedback to maintain quality and thoroughness.
In this role, you will work closely with lead eDiscovery Counsel on current and future eDiscovery initiatives, reviewing Discovery workflows and policies across various agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal privilege assessments and responsiveness evaluations using tools such as Adobe Pro, Relativity, EverLaw, and eDiscovery Platform (Clearwell).
- Collaborate with attorneys and IT support teams to ensure data is discoverable as new technologies emerge.
- Deliver professional, accurate, timely, and reliable support across the Office of the General Counsel, Operational and Administrative Divisions, and other government entities.
- Perform research to locate and compile materials responsive to requests, including outreach and informal interviews to address document requests and interrogatories.
- Analyze documents and media files, applying redactions to various types of privileged information proficiently.
Qualifications:
- An ACTIVE and CURRENT TOP SECRET federal security clearance.
- One or more years of progressively responsible experience in conducting privilege and substantive reviews on litigation support projects.
- A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience reviewing electronic and paper materials for privilege on litigation support projects involving both paper documents and electronic files.
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Demonstrated working knowledge of eDiscovery review platforms (e.g., Relativity, EverLaw, eDiscovery Platform (Clearwell)) for identifying documents for responsive and privileged reviews, including redaction of sensitive information.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records of assigned requests, including detailed case notes and discovery plans.
