Job Summary


Under the direction of the Learning & Research (L&R) Technology Group director, this position acts as a resource for the development and implementation of learning and research technology services in support of Isenberg faculty and staff.

Provides professional client support through evidence-based, informed consulting practice, workshop facilitation, and project management.

Researches and stays current with approaches and best practices on the use and assessment of technology strategies not limited to, but focused on, learning and research technologies in higher education.

Actively engages with the Isenberg Teaching Fellows and the Associate Dean for Research, in providing support for the new Berthiaume Behavioral Technology Research Lab, Isenberg's Video Recording Studio, and Isenberg's new Technology Sandbox.

Collaborates with IDEAS, CTL and other departments on campus, for larger initiatives that support campus efforts to improve teaching and learning.

Essential Functions

  • Consults and serves as a resource in planning, testing, and implementing a myriad of L&R technologies that support innovative approaches to learning, instruction, faculty research, and assessment.
  • Provides support to faculty seeking to explore and implement existing and new technologies (e.g., augmented reality, virtual reality, AI) into their instruction. Offers consultative support to help faculty make evidencebased decisions about the use and effective deployment of innovative technology.
  • Provides support to faculty seeking to deploy technologies in support of behavioral research, including the use of techniques such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), electroencephalography (EEG), skin conductance and heart rate measurement, eyetracking, facial electromyography, and augmented and virtual reality, for conducting experiments in the behavioral research lab.
  • Researches, stays uptodate, and recommends appropriate learning and research technologies, including technologies used for developing materials, selecting delivery mechanisms, maintaining student engagement, conducting course/instructor/student assessments to support effective teaching and outreach, and technologies in support of behavioral research.
  • Develops and designs workshop materials that promote technology strategies in traditional and online courses and conducts individual and group training sessions.
  • Builds and maintains productive and positive faculty and staff relationships campuswide.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to proofread, edit, and produce effective written materials and presentations.
  • Skills in IT visual presentation designing and developing clear instructional materials in written, graphic, audio, video, or multimedia form, with creativity and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Must possess a customerservice driven and teamoriented approach.
  • Proficiency to adapt learning to use a diverse range of software and hardware tools at an advanced level.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to a nontechnical audience, work independently and/or with multiple constituencies, speak or make presentations before groups, conduct effective training.
  • Ability to manage time and multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, accomplish goals, and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Informatics, Education, Communications, and Instructional Design/Technology, or a related field.
  • Interest in development of technologybased content across a broad range of disciplines; integrating graphic, text and audio elements in multimedia learning materials.
  • Experience working with instructors in a higher education environment.
  • Knowledge of online Learning Management systems used in higher education (e.g., Canvas) or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of biometric devices and methods used in experimental research.
Work Schedule

  • Monday
  • Friday, 8:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
  • Occasional nights and weekends required as business needs dictate.
  • This position has the opportunity for a hybrid work
- schedule, which is defined by the University as an arrangement where an employee's work is regularly performed at a location other than the campus workspace for a portion of the week. As this position falls within the Professional Staff Union, it is subject to the terms and conditions of the Professional Staff Union collective bargaining agreement.
