Job Overview: The Program Officer, WCW Sponsor Engagement leads the mobilization and management of private sponsor groups (PSGs) in the Welcome Corps at Work (WCW) program. Serving as the Private Sponsor Organization (PSO) for PSGs in WCW, the Program Officer will lead community outreach and PSG recruitment, ongoing training and oversight, and monitor the progress and wellbeing of participating Welcome Corps at Work clients. The Program Officer will stay up to date with Welcome Corps at Work program requirements and updates, as well as updates from the PSO network and the broader Welcome Corps program. The Program Officer will regularly engage with external partners such as the Community Sponsorship Hub and other PSOs and internally will work closely with the Program Officer, Community Sponsorship Training and the Program Officer, Community Engagement for Vulnerable Populations to mobilize partners and develop resources to meet PSG and client needs. This position reports to the Senior Program Officer for Community Sponsorship within the Resettlement, Asylum and Integration (RAI) Department.

This position is currently limited term through 04/2025 but may be extended depending on the funding.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the identification and recruitment of private sponsor groups (PSGs) for WCW to meet program targets, including community mapping, facilitating informational sessions, participating in webinars, and conducting meetings with potential partners as needed.
  • Support the IRC's role as a Private Sponsor Organization (PSO) by attending regular PSO meetings, staying current with all Welcome Corps program updates, and implementing the IRC's framework for support to Private Sponsor Groups (PSGs) in Welcome Corps at Work.
  • Develop and facilitate supplemental training and other resources on essential resettlement topics, such as housing and cultural orientation, tailored to the unique needs of PSGs participating in WCW.
  • Ensure completion of private sponsorship required services through 30 and 90-day reports from PSGs. Provide consultation, guidance, and recommended resources in response to private sponsor groups' questions and technical assistance requests.
  • Contribute to developing and submitting grants management documents, including continuation proposals and quarterly project reports.
  • Collaborate with the IRC's Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning team to identify trends related to PSGs and clients in WCW and advise the Senior Program Officer of areas of concern.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related field of study preferred.
  • Relevant professional experience in the human services field required; minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in the immigrant, refugee resettlement and social work fields, and experience in creating, building, and maintaining partnerships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience in outreach and mobilization for community sponsorship or private sponsorship initiatives is highly preferred.

Working Environment:

  • This role may work remotely from anywhere within the US, with potential hybrid / in-person option depending on location and candidate preference. If remote, applicants must have a home or alternate workspace they can effectively complete their work from during regularly scheduled hours.
  • Occasional domestic (non-local) travel required; up to 15%
  • May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.

US Benefits: The IRC offers a comprehensive and highly competitive set of benefits. All US employees are eligible for sick time, a 403b retirement savings plans: up to 4.5% immediately vested matching contribution, plus an 3-7% additional IRC contribution, and an Employee Assistance Program which is available to our staff and their families to support in times of crisis and mental health struggles.

In addition, full-time employees are eligible for 10 US paid holidays, 20-25 paid time off days, disability & life insurance, medical, dental, and vision insurance (employee contribution starting at $135, $7, and $5 per month respectively) and FSA for healthcare, childcare, and commuter costs.
