Position Overview:

The Performing Arts Engagement Specialist is responsible for delivering innovative lessons in various performing arts disciplines, including dance, theater, and improvisation. This role is essential in nurturing students' creativity and artistic skills through hands-on learning experiences. The specialist will create an inclusive atmosphere that encourages all students to explore their talents and engage in the arts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with program leadership to design and implement engaging arts activities.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that respects the diversity of all participants.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and participation.
  • Develop lesson plans that culminate in project-based performances.
  • Actively participate in training and professional development opportunities.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
  • Adapt activities to meet the needs of various age groups within the K-8 spectrum.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with youth in educational or recreational settings.
  • Experience in teaching performing arts, including but not limited to theater and dance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
