The successful candidate will engage in portfolio management for Broadly Syndicated and Private Market Credits, along with other leveraged finance credit commitments targeting Private Equity-owned non-investment grade borrowers. The portfolio may encompass a range from middle-market to large corporate entities within the Sponsor Finance & Direct Lending sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct credit analysis, provide recommendations, assign risk ratings, and manage transactions within the Sponsor/Direct Lending unit.
- Perform due diligence on new transactions and regularly assess the existing loan portfolio.
- Evaluate, structure, and negotiate terms and credit agreements with Sponsor-owned borrowers.
- Prepare comprehensive quarterly and annual credit reviews and applications, adhering to internal policies and regulatory standards, while evaluating company-specific, industry, and regulatory risks, along with historical and projected operating performance and capital structure.
- Support the sponsor coverage team in generating ideas for Sponsor clients and potential clients, and participate in client meetings.
- Facilitate communication of account information across various departments within the organization.
- Maintain a generalist understanding of current industry conditions relevant to the assigned portfolio, utilizing both internal and external resources.
- Oversee facility closing procedures, ensuring compliance with operations and documentation standards.
- Collaborate within a deal team environment (including GRM, Corporate Advisory, Capital Markets, and Syndications) to support the development and analysis of financing structures and strategies, including leveraged capital markets and other product areas.
- Assist in credit analysis for structured credit transactions, such as derivatives transactions, margin lending, receivable securitizations, and supply chain finance.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the industries represented in the portfolio, including technical and regulatory aspects.
- Participate in client and bank meetings as required.
- Facilitate communication with the credit approval division to ensure alignment of risk strategy and policy.
- Evaluate and establish appropriate ratings for transactions, correlating exposure levels on both transaction and group levels.
- Ensure adherence to policy and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree; CFA or MBA preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in financial institutions or related credit risk functions analyzing corporate borrowers.
- Strong understanding of accounting and corporate finance principles.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in creating and reviewing scenario-based financial models.
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
