Amazon Web Services (AWS) is currently seeking an accomplished Technical Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead a team dedicated to driving cloud adoption for one of our most prominent and innovative AWS clients - In this position, you will focus on Amazon as an internal customer of AWS, providing vital support for their ongoing adoption of cutting-edge cloud services.


We are in search of a highly motivated and experienced technical advisor to offer specialized support and expertise to our internal Amazon clients.

As a Technical BDM, you will assume a pivotal role in guiding these clients towards well-informed technology decisions, expediting their cloud adoption journey, and realizing their business objectives.

Close collaboration with various AWS teams, including Services, Infrastructure, Partners, and ProServe, is integral to ensure a comprehensive approach to customer success.


We seek individuals with a wealth of experience, boasting 15+ years in technical sales strategy and management, coupled with a proven track record of addressing critical business challenges through AWS Services.

Furthermore, experience in designing and overseeing cloud migration and modernization initiatives is highly desirable.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop Strategic Approach and Goals: Create a strategic roadmap and define clear, measurable goals for your team in alignment with the needs and objectives of internal Amazon customers.

Lead and Deliver:

Lead your team to execute the strategic approach and achieve the established goals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support as needed.


Collaborate with AWS Teams:

Partner with various AWS teams, including Services, Infrastructure, Partners, and ProServe, to foster collaboration and accelerate customer outcomes through a cross-functional approach.

Customer Cloud Enablement Teams:

Work closely with customer cloud enablement teams to ensure alignment on the technical direction, share best practices, and support their cloud adoption journey.


Financial Outcomes Analysis:

Calculate and assess the financial outcomes of cloud adoption and re-architecture decisions, helping customers make informed choices that optimize their investments.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of enterprise tech selling, consulting, or modernization experience
  • Experience working with a large global organization
  • 10+ years of experience with AWS and/or technology as a service (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A BA or BS degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field experience (MBA preferred)
  • Experience or exposure building cloud migration and / or modernization programs
  • Experience providing trusted advisor / consultative approach to customers
  • Experience with business case development and related financial modeling
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

The base pay for this position ranges from $158,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $262,000/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
