Job Summary: The Academic Affairs Coordinator serves as an investigator for academic misconduct and academic grievances. Serves as the primary trainer for departments on academic misconduct policies and procedures. Manages all budgets and expenses for Academic Program Reviews, Counsel of Assistant and Associate Deans, and the University Undergraduate Counsel.
Additional Department Summary: Assists the Senior Associate Provost in handling academic misconduct and academic grievance appeals to the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA). Trains the administrative assistants of the academic colleges on both policies and procedures and using Maxient. Assists in academic program reviews by ensuring that the colleges/departments take care of logistical and financial arrangements. Assists the Senior Associate Provost with the Council of Assistant and Associate Deans (CAAD) and the University Undergraduate Council. Supports two General Education associate provosts in the Built by Bama Core Curriculum reform.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience; OR master's degree.
Skills and Knowledge: Proficiency in the usage of personal computers and standard application software such as word processing, spreadsheet, and/or database management programs. Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated excellent planning and organizational skills. Ability to function independently, solve problems, and make decisions. Ability to prioritize and schedule work for efficient operations. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with UA accounting/budgeting policies and procedures. Experience with Banner and Concur. Experience in updating websites.
