Senior Project Manager – Coastal Permitting and Consulting


Triton Coastal Consultants, LLC (“Triton”)is actively searching for a Senior Project Manager to join our Coastal Permitting and Consulting team in Guilford, Connecticut. Triton is a full-service environmental consulting and engineering services firm, and part of True Environmental (“True”). At True we are building a diversified environmental services organization focused on consulting and engineering, water/wastewater management, testing/analytical services, and value-add remediation services. Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage coastal permitting projects including dredging and coastal infrastructure in Connecticut and other nearby States, developing State and federal permit applications, coordinating with regulatory agencies, and implementing project oversight.
  • Collaborate with other coastal team members to review and revise written work products.
  • Coordinate subcontractors including hydrographic survey companies. marine coring contractors, and laboratories.
  • Coordinate scheduling to meet client’s deadlines.
  • Analyze data, prepare client reports, and communicate with clients.
  • Review and interpret federal, state, and local regulations to apply to a range of client’s operations, equipment, and circumstances.
  • Respond to requests from clients or regulators on data or information provided in communications, reports, etc.
  • Mentor junior staff and delegate tasks to foster junior staff career development.
  • Pursue business development opportunities for Triton/True associated with coastal permitting and engineering projects and help grow the business sector.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other True Environmental coastal engineers and permitting specialists.


Required Qualifications:

  • 10 years experience in the field of coastal permitting and engineering including experience with State and federal permitting for dredging projects and other coastal infrastructure.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related scientific field.
  • Familiarity with the coastal permitting processes of State and federal agencies that regulate coastal permitting projects.
  • Project management experience including deliverables, schedules, and budgets.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing CTDEEP and Army Corps dredge permitting including management of Tier II and Tier III sediment testing associated with off-shore disposal approvals.
  • Master’s degree.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Coastal Engineering.
  • High degree of motivation, strategic planning, self-starting capability and able to work autonomously.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
