Position Overview:


The Technical Support role within the organization will provide a combination of both technical support to end-users and maintaining the company's infrastructure. This position requires a blend of strong technical troubleshooting abilities, customer service skills, and a deep understanding of IT systems and networks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the IT systems are running efficiently, while also addressing the technical needs of employees and customers.


Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support:


  • End-User Support: Provide technical support to employees and customers through various channels (phone, email, remote access, and in-person) to resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other peripherals.
  • Software Assistance: Assist users with software installations, updates, and configurations, ensuring compatibility and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation of common technical issues and solutions, FAQs, and user guides to aid in faster problem resolution.
  • Training: Conduct basic IT training sessions for employees to enhance their understanding and use of company technologies.
  • Network Administration: Assist in maintaining the company’s network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points, ensuring network security and performance.
  • Server Management: Support the administration of servers, including Active Directory, file servers, and application servers. Monitor server performance and ensure backups are properly executed.
  • System Updates: Apply updates, patches, and security fixes to servers, workstations, and other IT systems to maintain optimal performance and security.
  • IT Asset Management: Track and manage IT assets, including hardware inventory, software licenses, and warranties.
  • Cybersecurity: Assist in implementing and monitoring cybersecurity measures to protect company data and systems from unauthorized access, malware, and other threats.
  • Project Support: Collaborate on IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.


Qualifications:


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in a technical support or IT role, with a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, network administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Experience with network technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Familiarity with server administration, including Active Directory and file servers.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Experience with helpdesk software and remote support tools.
  • Certifications: Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator) are a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving abilities, ability to work independently and manage time effectively, and a customer-service-oriented mindset.

Work Environment:

  • Hours: Standard business hours with occasional after-hours work for system maintenance or emergency support.
