Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY


The Technical Support Specialist will play a crucial role in collaborating with the team to establish technical benchmarks for workstations and pinpointing areas for enhancement.

This role involves the analysis, migration, and implementation of computer applications, systems, and network configurations. The specialist will be responsible for designing, documenting, and scripting intricate new software deployments. Additionally, the role requires the ability to assess business technology requirements, devise solutions, and execute those solutions effectively. Monitoring system performance is also a key responsibility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide back-end engineering support for Mac OS environments.

Administer and configure JAMF Pro.

Implement and investigate JAMF Protect in accordance with CIS Benchmark standards.

Troubleshoot, configure, and deploy JAMF Connect.

Utilize Apple Script and bash/shell scripting for various tasks.

Manage FileVault2 Enterprise settings.

Work with PLIST and JSON files for configuration management.

Create Extended Attributes in JAMF.

Route and escalate technical issues to the appropriate support teams. Collaborate with technicians on root cause analysis and communicate effectively regarding end-user support matters.

Participate in and provide support for IT and business initiatives.

Oversee all systems managed by the Desktop Support Engineering team.

Conduct system analysis for reported issues, including consulting with users. Act as the escalation point of contact for technical challenges.

Manage testing activities for workstations, laptops, VMs, and other dependent systems across the organization for patching and vulnerability assessments.

Monitor the desktop services engineering queue through the service desk system to ensure high satisfaction levels and address incidents and requests to meet service level agreements (SLAs).

Oversee configuration site collection maintenance and Windows Configuration power management rules.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES

Proficient in high-level troubleshooting of Mac OS.

Expertise in JAMF Pro is required.

Proficiency in JAMF Connect is essential.

Knowledge of JAMF Protect is necessary.

Familiarity with SCCM and/or Tanium is advantageous.

High-level troubleshooting of Windows Desktop OS is a plus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor's Degree along with 3-5+ years of relevant experience is required.

At least 3+ years of experience in bash/shell scripting is necessary.

JAMF 200 and 300 certifications are mandatory.

JAMF 370 and 400 certifications are a plus.

A+, Security+, or Network+ certifications are advantageous.

LOCATION AND COMPENSATION
This position is hybrid, requiring three days onsite. Base compensation is competitive, with opportunities for incentive compensation, including bonuses.
