Description:

As an Open Enrollment Specialist, you will play a key role in providing education to employees about employer sponsored benefit programs. This includes conducting open enrollment presentations, webcasts, Q&A sessions, and recorded training sessions for MMA clients.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with various internal teams within Barney and Barney Employee Health & Benefits division to organize and execute benefit open enrollment meetings.
  • Maintain expertise in all aspects of employer sponsored healthcare benefits and adjust presentation style to suit different employer groups and meeting sizes.
  • Serve as a WebEx super user for online open enrollment meetings.
  • Record presentations for remote employees and new hires.
  • Assist in preparing open enrollment materials alongside internal teams.
  • Manage a complex open enrollment calendar and schedule.
  • Coordinate with carrier representatives for all open enrollment meeting activities.
  • Provide feedback to teams on open enrollment activities and client requests.
  • Travel locally and out of town or state as required for open enrollment meetings.
  • Participate in internal meetings when needed.
  • Organize files and records for MMA.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Adhere to professional standards set by MMA when interacting with clients.
  • Share knowledge with others to enhance open enrollment processes.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience

The ideal candidate should be service-oriented with high personal standards and a hands-on work approach. This position demands someone who is comfortable working at a dynamic pace, managing multiple tasks simultaneously, adapting priorities frequently, handling interruptions, and working independently. It involves interacting with a large group of internal associates and external vendors regularly. The Open Enrollment Specialist must be positive, approachable, and able to collaborate effectively with diverse personalities. Additionally, the following qualifications are required:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or 2-3 years of experience in public speaking/training, preferably in Employee Health & Benefits.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with expertise in conducting oral presentations.
Continued Education and/or Experience
  • Above-average skills in analysis, problem-solving, and planning are crucial.
  • Dependability and strong teamwork abilities.
  • Hold an active California Life & Disability License.
  • Proficiency in using computer and database equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in delivering presentations.
  • Flexibility, good organizational skills, follow-through, and follow-up capabilities.
  • Possess a valid California driver's license and reliable transportation.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment such as telephone, copier, and computer.
  • Capable of sitting for extended periods in the office or while driving to client meetings.
  • Ability to engage in speaking, standing, or sitting for presentations.
  • Occasional extended work hours may be required.
  • Regular travel expected, including client site visits within San Diego and surrounding areas. Additionally, occasional overnight trips in and out of state are necessary during peak renewal periods.
The salary range for this role is $56,400 to $120,500. The final compensation offered will be based on factors like experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions regarding compensation will be made on a case-by-case basis. Furthermore, this position may be eligible for performance-based bonuses.
