Job Overview
The
Administrative Clerical Assistant provides administrative office support for UAW Region 6 within the International Union, UAW.
This role will act as a liaison with the membership, community partners, regional and department staff and other outside affiliates and report to the Regional Director.
- Provide high level administrative support for a department with strict confidentiality.
- Act as a liaison with other department staff, UAW staff and affiliates
- Develop, coordinate, and assess office systems and operations, including but not limited to, recordkeeping, expense reporting, internal and external communications, meetings, travel and expenses and other areas as assigned.
- Review and process incoming correspondence and materials, as well as prepare responses as appropriate; maintain accurate and updated documents.
- Coordinate support for staff and members, including resolution of questions and concerns and development of processes when necessary.
- Assist with all aspects regarding documentation, correspondence and record keeping.
- Retrieve information quickly, utilizing internal and external data resources.
- Provide support for other office clerical staff as needed.
- Travel may be required (i.e. to attend meetings)
- Responsible for uploading, tracking, and maintenance of local union contracts in the Local Union Information System (LUIS).
- Provide administrative support for the Region, including processing of documents related to bargaining and other projects, including but not limited to, designing, and maintaining of systems to track materials and inventory.
- Proofreading, reformatting, and editing of correspondence and statements, publications, or other information as required.
- Understand, and be able to communicate, the function of the UAW and both the internal and external labor movement.

- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks within a highpressure environment and meet unpredictable deadlines.
- Commitment to confidentiality and discretion
- Excellent writing and proofreading skills
- Strong problemsolving and resolution skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
- Ability to navigate a wide variety of digital platforms (SurveyMonkey, TalentLMS, Microsoft Forms, etc.)
- Ability to learn department specific software (training will be provided).
- Understanding of analytics
- Strong proofreading skills
- Bilingual ability a plus.
