TITLE:

Accounting Specialist

DEPT:

REPORTS TO:

Chief Financial Officer

STATUS:

Non-Exempt

Responsible for maintaining the systems relative to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, ADP Payroll and QuickBooks. Help support our mission to provide quality services to find and retain employment to persons with disabilities. Responsibilities include:

This position requires such typical work operations and responsibilities as, but not limited to:1.
Responsible for various aspects of Payroll processing, including entering data into ADP, creating and entering Payroll Journal entries.

  • Prepare all
    vendor invoices and other expenses ; post completed items in our Accounting software program.
  • Process Accounts Payable such as ensuring
    accuracy of invoices and expenses, investigating errors, etc.
  • Prepare customer invoices and post to Accounts Receivable.
  • Responsible for
    specialized billing procedures such as state contracts or other comparable entities as needed.
  • Manage all issues relative to billing adjustments and credit collections; ensuring billing accuracy and timely customer receipts.
  • Assist with all aspects of the
    Cash Receipts process.
  • Assist with
    month-end accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activity.

Assist the CFO in the areas of maintaining organized files, Policies and Procedures, and Financial Statement preparatory work.

10.
Assist the CFO in other essential duties of the department on an as needed basis.

Qualifications:

Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field. _

1 years of experience as an accounting supervisor or manager. (_
Nonprofit experience preferred.)_

  • Technical proficiency in Office Word, Excel and Quickbooks.
  • Exceptional
    knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting cost control principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Advanced knowledge of
    bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards and state regulations

  • Pays strict
    attention to detail

  • Available means of transportation
  • Automobile insurance in force per Kuhn's specifications when using personal vehicle for work related purposes.
