UBMD Primary Care is looking for a Patient Services Representative (PSR) to join their team at a busy multi-specialty outpatient clinic located at Conventus Medical Building-1001 Main Street, Buffalo, NY. The schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, with the flexibility to work one Thursday evening (12:30-8:30 pm) per month on rotation with other PSRs.
- Duties include greeting patients, check-in/out, verifying insurances, scheduling appointments, daily copay reports/collection, and providing general customer service.
- Requirements: Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills, 1-2 years' experience in a medical office, EMR and Healthenet experience, and general office skills (faxing, copying, etc).
This role is subject to a background check and drug screening. AA/EOE.

Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative (PSR) is responsible for administrative duties at the office, including scheduling appointments, handling call volumes, collecting copays, and welcoming visitors.
Essential Functions:
- Schedules and confirms patient appointments.
- Verifies patient demographics, insurance, and signatures for accurate billing.
- Handles cash receipts and payments, and maintains reception area.
- Provides information to patients and directs calls appropriately.
- Organizes patient requests and follows up on services.
- Adheres to HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
Other Functions:
- Complies with quality assurance and safety policies.
- Maintains competence through education and training.
- Reviews company notifications and addresses them in a timely manner.
- May travel to other UBMDFM locations as needed.
Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or GED, Associate's degree preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years in medical reception or customer service, EMR experience preferred.
Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of medical terminology, insurances, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Working/Environment Conditions:
- Fast-paced, clean office environment with moderate noise levels.
- Occupational health exposures may be present.
- Physical Requirements include sitting or standing for long periods and light to moderate lifting.
Equipment:
- Operates standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and fax machines.
