Key Responsibilities:- Electronic Medical Record Management: Accurately input and retrieve information in the Electronic Medical Record system to maintain the integrity of the Health Information Record.
- Scheduling and Pre-Registration: Schedule appointments, complete pre-registration tasks, and verify demographic and insurance information for precise billing.
- Patient Flow Coordination: Coordinate patient flow, ensuring confidentiality, and recognizing when clinical healthcare staff intervention is required.
- Care Coordination and Quality Improvement: Participate in patient care teams, offering Care Coordination services, and contributing to Quality Improvement and Assurance activities.
- Prior Authorizations and Referrals: Handle prior authorizations, referrals, and provide specialist resource information.
- Log and Track Patient Information: Log and track patient information accurately.
- Meetings and Additional Duties: Attend necessary meetings and fulfill other assigned duties as needed.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Experience: Minimum of one year of high-level customer service experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.
- Preferred Qualifications: Associate's Degree in a related field, thorough knowledge of medical terminology, three years of high-level customer service experience, three years of relevant healthcare experience, and proficiency in using an Electronic Medical Record system.
The role entails periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping. Job-related stress may be significant. Evening and/or weekend work could be necessary. The position may involve lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects up to ten pounds.
