What role you will play in our team

We are looking for experienced production engineers who will be able to safely manage and develop a producing field of oil and gas wells alongside a talented field and office staff. This includes monitoring and maintaining oil and gas production by optimizing and coordinating development and work-overs of a diverse set of unconventional wells. This job is located in our division office in Williston, ND managing assets in the Williston Basin.

What you will do
  • Manage well production and operations to safely maximize production at the lowest potential cost
  • Provide support to Operations and Production Teams to plan, prepare, operate, surveil, and optimize wells and well activities: well operability and reliability challenges, drive OPEX reductions, develop rig requests, and perform risk analysis / mitigation consistent with industry and XTO safety practices to aid in ensuring safety and integrity of operations and people
  • Facilitate and lead cross functional teams in efficiency and profitability initiatives
  • Assist in cross disciplinary team managing production and spend forecasts, integrated scheduling, and development scenarios
  • Facilitate a safe work culture by role modeling safe behavior, exhibiting safety leadership, and visiting job sites to engage at the working level
  • Enhance design and execution concepts of existing production, wellwork operations, and completions to improve reliability, cost of supply, profitability, and safety
  • Improving equipment reliability through analysis of failures and developing cost effective solutions
  • Coordination and leveraging of world-class ExxonMobil subject matter experts and resources to drive productive changes to our operations
About you

We are looking for someone who has a strong production engineering background and has the following qualifications:

Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of BS in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or Petroleum Engineering discipline
  • At least 5+ years of experience working in the oil and gas (O&G) industry
  • At least 3 years of experience working in the Upstream segment of the O&G industry
  • Strong interpersonal skills are needed to ensure effectiveness when communicating and working across the organization to drive improvements
Have strong initiative and analytical skill to pro-actively identify and troubleshoot problems / evaluate risk Can demonstrate that they have successfully worked with / collaborated with others to achieve alignment and results as a team (e.g., working across Construction, Operations, Maintenance, Projects, Engineering, etc.) Are able to clearly and effectively communicate ideas and recommendations Has a willingness to contribute wherever necessary and support the general interest of the team Are receptive to feedback and listens Has a positive attitude and cares for other Maintains the courage to hold themselves and others to safety and performance standardsPreferred Qualifications

Prefer candidates with extensive experience in one or more of the following areas of the Upstream O&G:
  • Production Engineering
  • Completions Engineering
  • Reliability and Integrity Engineering
  • Project Management
  • Unconventional Asset Management
Experience evaluating and managing risk to reach fit for purpose decisions in the O&G context
