Position Overview:

The Library and Media Services Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the educational experience by providing comprehensive support to both students and educators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with educators to design and execute effective instructional strategies.
  • Establishes and upholds standards of student conduct to foster a conducive learning environment.
  • Organizes the Library Media Center to support diverse educational activities.
  • Partners with teachers and school leaders to create and promote reading programs and special events.
  • Integrates technology into program management and instructional practices.
  • Maintains a well-rounded collection and ensures the automated catalog is current and accurate.
  • Engages with all stakeholders through various communication methods.
  • Offers professional development and technological assistance to educators and administrators.
  • Sets budget priorities informed by assessments of needs and feedback from the Library Media Advisory Committee.
  • Keeps track of library usage and submits necessary reports.
  • Develops a comprehensive Policies and Procedures manual aligned with State and District guidelines, approved by the District Library Media Supervisor.
  • Evaluates the library media program and student outcomes, making necessary adjustments to ensure success.
  • Complies with school system regulations, administrative protocols, local board policies, and applicable laws.
  • Exhibits professional ethics and leadership qualities.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
