Job Title: Director of Human Resources and Leadership Development

Thompson Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Director of Human Resources and Leadership Development to join our team based in Mobile, AL. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures that promote a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and administer policies and procedures related to human relations activities, recruiting, and staffing.
  • Facilitate a work environment that maximizes employee morale, teamwork, and commitment to company strategic goals.
  • Identify legal requirements and governmental regulations affecting human resources and ensure compliance.
  • Oversee the coordination of the employee Performance Management program to ensure effectiveness and equity.
  • Implement recruiting strategies to ensure cost-efficiency and quality hires.
  • Ensure the maintenance of a secure and confidential system for storage and maintenance of all personnel documentation.
  • Track and identify root causes for employee turnover.
  • Develop and maintain an Employee Handbook that contains all company policies pertaining to personnel.
  • Stay up-to-date with current events and regulatory changes related to company personnel.
  • Periodically survey company employees to determine job satisfaction and areas needing improvement.
Requirements:
  • 10 years of experience in management-level human resources.
  • Relevant 4-year college degree and PHR certification.
  • Extensive knowledge of employment law and practices.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentational communication skills.
  • Computer literate in spreadsheet and word processing and Microsoft Office programs.
