Elementary Instructional Paraprofessional

Job Summary:

The Elementary Instructional Paraprofessional will assist the teacher in carrying out daily lessons, maintaining classroom discipline, and supporting student learning. This role requires a strong commitment to education and a passion for working with students.

Responsibilities:

Assisting the Teacher

The Elementary Instructional Paraprofessional will assist the teacher in planning and implementing daily lessons, including preparing materials and resources. They will also assist with testing and grading procedures, as well as maintaining accurate records of student progress.

Maintaining Classroom Discipline

The Elementary Instructional Paraprofessional will establish and maintain standards of student behavior, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment. They will work closely with the teacher to reinforce classroom rules and procedures, and will handle minor discipline issues as needed.

Supporting Student Learning

The Elementary Instructional Paraprofessional will work with the teacher to reinforce student learning, providing individualized support and accommodations as needed. They will also assist with special events and activities, such as field trips and parent-teacher conferences.

Qualifications:

The Elementary Instructional Paraprofessional must have completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education, or have obtained an Associate's degree, or have a score of 3 or higher on WorkKeys in Applied Math, Workplace Documents, and Business Writing. They must also be able to work effectively in a team environment and have excellent communication skills.
