KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – APPLICATION ENGINEERING

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all products, services, manufacturing operations, and relevant industries through company resources and self-directed learning.
  • Collaborate with sales representatives and their clients to provide both pre-sale and post-sale application engineering assistance.

• Serve as the primary application engineering contact for clients and sales representatives within the designated sales territory.

• Deliver general and enhanced application engineering support for all products, including:

§ Taking ownership of situations to resolve issues promptly.

§ Offering effective solutions based on clear application requirements to meet client needs and company sales goals.

§ Overseeing field testing of products.

§ Providing on-site troubleshooting assistance.

§ Engaging in project-related activities.

§ Presenting technical information to clients.

§ Supporting special pricing and materials management activities related to specific account efforts.

  • Assist in achieving account sales objectives and strategies.

• Communicate regularly with sales team members regarding account developments.

• Identify leads through active listening and probing for client requirements and opportunities, as well as proactive industry research.

• Participate in client visits with sales representatives to foster and maintain strong supplier/client relationships.

• Maximize the scope of supply by recognizing opportunities for additional product purchases from existing clients.

• Demonstrate proactive selling of products.

• Identify opportunities for expanding sales through additional options and complementary products.

• Gather and communicate product/service enhancements based on client feedback and experiences.

• Support the contact management database by documenting personal activities.

  • Engage with key personnel in Knowledge Management, R&D, and Product Management to support personal development, product enhancement, and innovation.

QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING PREFERRED:

  • Required – Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10 years of industrial experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a customer-facing role; experience in belting and/or conveying is preferred.
  • Required – Ability to work in an office environment and travel to support the outside sales team and clients; travel requirement is approximately 20%.
  • Required – Proficient in mechanical design, analysis, troubleshooting, technical writing, and time/task management.
  • Required – Excellent interpersonal skills; experienced in public speaking and face-to-face consultations.
  • Required – Proactive problem solver.
  • Required – Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Required – Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CAD.
  • Required – Customer-focused and results-oriented.
