The Cybersecurity Risk Specialist will play a vital role within the Information Security Office (ISO), contributing to the design, support, and implementation of cybersecurity solutions and services through a risk-oriented methodology. This position involves collaborating closely with various business units to enhance and maintain the cybersecurity posture of both QTS and its clientele. The specialist will actively engage in the daily management of compliance controls related to information security, which includes monitoring, scanning, analysis, reporting, validation, and evidence management. Additionally, the specialist will act as a corporate information security subject matter expert (SME) when necessary. Candidates should possess substantial experience in information security and regulated environments. Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities are essential for success in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver technical, business, and cybersecurity analysis support in the development and execution of vulnerability management strategies.
  • Oversee and manage roles, groups, and permissions within designated information security tools.
  • Compile and prepare various outputs and reports from vulnerability scans.
  • Provide management with statistical reports on the progress of vulnerability remediation efforts.
  • Act as the primary liaison for technical vendor management concerning assigned tools.
  • Lead the organization, verification, reporting, and evidence management of User Access Certification initiatives.
  • Coordinate notifications of vulnerabilities from multiple vendors and authoritative sources to create a consolidated weekly report for all technical business units.
  • Review and analyze daily audit reports for potential information security incidents and indicators of compromise.
  • Assist in managing and scheduling information security and compliance-related vulnerability scans.
  • Engage in the vulnerability management process through the review, analysis, validation, reporting, and evidence management of remediation activities.
  • Advise on information security matters related to systems and workflows to ensure that internal security controls are effective and compliant.
  • Participate in information security incident response as required.
  • Contribute to regular corporate risk assessments and business impact analyses.
  • Provide cybersecurity guidance to Corporate Lines of Business (LOBs).
  • Support management in the creation and dissemination of Information Security policies, procedures, standards, and specifications.
  • Engage in corporate and client-facing audit activities as needed to ensure compliance with relevant standards and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with various business units and law enforcement to address security vulnerabilities.
  • Participate in the design, review, and support of cybersecurity solutions aimed at reducing the organization’s risk profile.
  • Conduct research to stay informed about the latest cybersecurity challenges and emerging industry solutions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years in Information Security Services, IT audit, or Risk Management.
  • Completion of at least one security-related certification (e.g., CISA, CIA, CFE, CISM, CISSP, SSCP, CEH, CIPP, GIAC, or CBCP).
  • At least 2 years of hands-on operational experience with a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platform, preferably Keylight GRC.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with compliant controls related to PCI DSS, FedRAMP, or SOC II.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required by law for this position due to federal customer contracts.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Comprehensive understanding of network and system-based attack vectors.
  • Solid grasp of information security concerns in deploying firewalls, switches, routers, DNS, IDS/IPS, cloud infrastructure, and log management.
  • Familiarity with various compliance regulations and IT/security frameworks/standards (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA, FedRAMP, FFIEC, FINRA, ISO20000, ISO27000, ITILv3, NIST, SAS70).
  • Knowledge of the Managed Services Provider industry is advantageous.
  • Understanding of the Managed Security Services Provider industry is a plus.
