Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

Deliver Engineering and Technical Services to key clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – APPLICATION ENGINEERING

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all products, services, manufacturing processes, and relevant industries through company resources and self-directed learning.
  • Collaborate with sales representatives and their clients to provide both pre-sale and post-sale application engineering assistance.
  1. Serve as the primary application engineering contact for clients and sales representatives within the designated sales territory.
  2. Offer general and value-added application engineering support for all products, including:
  • Taking ownership of situations to resolve issues promptly.
  • Providing effective solutions based on clear application requirements to meet client needs and company sales goals.
  • Overseeing field testing activities for products.
  • Delivering on-site troubleshooting assistance.
  • Participating in project initiatives.
  • Conducting technical presentations for clients.
  • Supporting special pricing and materials management activities related to specific account efforts.
  • Assist in achieving account sales objectives and strategies.
  1. Maintain regular communication with sales team members regarding account activities.
  2. Identify leads through active listening and probing for client requirements and opportunities, along with proactive industry research.
  3. Engage in client visits with sales representatives to cultivate and sustain strong supplier/client relationships.
  4. Maximize the scope of supply by:
  • Recognizing that a client using one product type may have opportunities to purchase additional products.
  • Demonstrating proactive selling of various products.
  • Identifying opportunities for expanding sales through additional options and complementary products.
  • Gathering and communicating product/service improvements based on client feedback and experiences.
Support contact management database by documenting personal activities.
  • Interact with key personnel in Knowledge Management, R&D, and Product Management to foster personal growth and product development.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERENCES:

To successfully perform this role, an individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications and preferences listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.   • Required – Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10 years of industrial experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a customer-facing role; experience in belting and/or conveying is preferred.
  • Required – Ability to work in an office environment and travel to support outside sales and clients as part of a team; travel requirement is approximately 20%.
  • Required – Proficient in mechanical design, analysis, troubleshooting, technical writing, and time/task management.
  • Required – Excellent interpersonal skills; experienced in public speaking and face-to-face consultations.
  • Required – Proactive problem solver.
  • Required – Capable of multitasking and working effectively in a team environment.
  • Required – Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CAD.
  • Required – Customer and results-oriented mindset.
