Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Office Assistant to join our team at White Plains Hospital. As an Office Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to our physicians and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments and arrival using our Practice Management System
  • Perform diversified office-clerical duties, including sending and receiving patient records and documents, scheduling surgical procedures and tests, and verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics
  • Answer telephone calls, relay messages, and provide information to patients, families, physicians, and outside facilities and individuals
  • Maintain files and assist in establishing office systems, including ordering office supplies and operating related office equipment
  • Attend meetings, take and distribute minutes, and fulfill organizational responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required
  • Previous patient relation experience required
  • Previous general office experience required
  • Previous physician practice experience preferred
Work Environment

As an Office Assistant at White Plains Hospital, you will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks, and you will be required to use a computer for extensive periods of time. You will also be required to lift and move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

Primary Population Served

We serve a diverse population, including patients with exceptional communication needs, patients with developmental delays, and patients at end of life. We also serve patients under isolation precautions and patients with cultural needs.
