At White Plains Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Licensed Security Officer to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, and staff.
Job SummaryThe Licensed Security Officer will be responsible for carrying out all duties and assignments of a Security Officer, including the proper and timely completion of all post and other task assignments. You will identify and communicate security issues to Security Sergeant, Assistant Director of Security or Division Administrator, and recognize and be responsible for the appropriate and authorized use of all Security Department equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Articulate an understanding of the responsibilities of the position, utilizing security policies and procedures via PolicyTech.
- Verbalize and apply knowledge of current Department and Hospital Policies and Procedures.
- Attend staff meetings or equivalent to update knowledge related to current Department/Hospital issues.
- Attend in-services, Net Learning as required/requested to update knowledge.
- Complete annual Department/Hospital competency requirements.
- Ability to observe and inspect packages.
- Ability to investigate thefts and/or property losses and document on a Security Incident Report.
- Ability to observe and determine illegally parked vehicles.
We are seeking a candidate with a high school graduate or equivalent plus one year of military experience preferred. Must have and maintain New York State licensing requirement. A valid driver's license is preferred. BLS certification through the American Heart Association must be completed within 90 days of hire, and de-escalation and restraint training completed within the probationary period.

Work EnvironmentThe Licensed Security Officer may be exposed to or work around chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital's SDS (Safety Data Sheet) database and may be accessed through the hospital's Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS database can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.
Primary Population ServedWe serve a diverse population, including neonatal, patients with exceptional communication needs, infant, patients with developmental delays, pediatric, patients at end of life, adolescent, patients under isolation precautions, adult, patients with cultural needs, and geriatric patients.
